3/10/2014 - Donations Solicited Toward Summer Camp Scholarships
The Wethersfield Department of Social and Youth Services is soliciting funds to allow ALL Wethersfield children to attend summer camp. Families in need have been assisted by this totally donor supported fund since 1971. The fund serves over 100 children and adults with disabilities each summer. All donations are 100 percent tax deductible and 100 percent of donations go directly to camp scholarships. Parents or guardians may choose any camp for their child including day and overnight camps. Any family that can demonstrate financial need is eligible to apply and there is a maximum grant of $200 per child per year. Positive, supervised activities are of benefit to all children and are known to reduce risk-taking and negative behavior.
